Reasons Why You Should Buy Them

The custom built 12mm dynamic drivers are tuned to provide a rich, warm studio-style sound quality with a flat low end that allows you clearly listen to all the instruments like the guitar and drums. They also have the "Adaptive Sound" function, which automatically adjusts the volume based on your environment

Convenience to perform endless tasks with Google Assistant by simply saying "Hey, Google" to check the weather, know all the events of the day, read the latest messages, play your favorite playlist or control your smart home gadgets

The Google's second-generation true wireless earbuds come with an oval-shaped wireless charging case made of matte-finished plastic that's easy to slide into your jeans' pocket

The Mentos inspired design is similar to the original Pixel Buds (2018 model) but without the cable. The small, elegant shape with the G-branding on the touchpad is really appealing

By cutting the chord and maintaining the same all-plastic structure, Google is able to create lightweight earbuds that remain comfortably in the ears for a long time

They have a long trunk that goes further in the ear, a soft "stabilizer arch" that protrudes from the top and are equipped with silicone tips of three different sizes to provide a secure fit even during the running or workout sessions

Thanks to their IPX4-certified design, they are pretty good at handling sweat and splashes while running or training in wet weather conditions

The big talking point of Pixel Buds is the "Conversation Mode" that puts in place real-time translations of 40 languages to better communicate with foreigners. Just say "Hey Google, help me speak Spanish" or say other language, the buds will convert everything you say into that language you've set

They have Google's "Fast Pair" technology that allows you to pair earbuds to any Android device instantly. As soon as you open the case, a small card on your Android device guides you about all the functionality

Built-in touch controls and sliding gestures that allow you to answer/end phone calls, control music playback, adjust volume, skip tracks and hold to talk to the Google Assistant

Google Pixel Buds 2 have built-in proximity sensors that automatically pause music when you remove the earbud

They offer up to 24 hours (5+19) of music playback with the charging case and are also equipped with the fast charging feature that offers 2 hours of playback with only 10 minutes of charging time

The Technics EAH-AZ70W do an excellent job of eliminating external sounds thanks to dual hybrid noise cancellation, using two microphone systems: Feedforward and Feedback noise canceling with analog & digital processing. They feature one of the most advanced noise cancellation of all models in the same price range.

You can adjust the noise cancellation levels (surprisingly 100 levels to choose from) from the Technics Audio Connect companion app depending on your external environment, whether you're at work or on a long-haul flight.

The Technics EAH-AZ70W true wireless definitely have a first-class appearance thanks to the clean lines, smooth, matte surface and brushed aluminum shell, which is available in Black and Silver colors with the Technics branding engraved on the top.

Their battery life is a decent 6.5 hours on a single charge, with noise cancellation constantly on, and an additional 13 hours with the charging case. They also have a quick-charging function that allows music playback of little over an hour with just 15 minutes of charging time.

The touch controls on the mettle surface are top notch and one of the most responsive we've ever tested. They are fairly straightforward and you can easily answer phone calls, play/pause music, adjust volume, skip tracks, switch from noise cancellation to Ambient mode or turn them on/off completely, and connect to the voice assistant.

They also have 'Ambient mode' that allows you to listen to external sounds in case you need them without turning off the tracks. This feature is very useful to keep you up to date while running, cycling on a busy city street or to hear a quick announcement at the airport without taking off the headphones.

They have decent call quality, although Panasonic advertises excellent quality with built-in beamforming technology and powerful MEMS microphone. We found it little better, not much than other models during our test in moderately noisy environments.

10 mm dynamic drivers and Graphene-coated diaphragms provide a fairly wide soundstage. The sound quality is rich and bright overall with punchy, well-defined bass, detailed mids and clear heights. You can also customize the EQ settings with the Technics Audio Connect app to your liking.

The Technics Audio Connect app is very intuitive to use. In fact, it's much better than the competition and lets you pair your earbuds, check the battery level of each bud, adjust noise cancellation and ambient sound mode, adjust and save EQ presets, find your earbuds if you lose one or both, and select the voice assistant.

Thanks to Bluetooth 5.1, you can use each bud in solo mode to listen to music or answer calls, as each bud receives its own Bluetooth signal. Panasonic also ensures that both buds maintain a stable connection with the proper sound balance between the left and right channels.

The Technics eah az70w true wireless earbuds are also perfect for listening to your favorite songs during outdoor activities or gym workouts. Their IPX4 water-resistant construction allows them to handle sweat and splashes better than normal earbuds.

With the auto-stop feature in the app, you can set the automatic shutdown of headphones after a few minutes of inactivity to extend battery life if you leave them outside the case.

Reasons Why You Should Avoid Them

Google Pixel Buds have an average battery life of 5 hours on a single charge, the same as the AirPods Pro with ANC on, but you can get 11 hours with the latest Samsung Galaxy buds plus that can perform almost all the functions of the Pixel Buds

If you're a bass fan to give yourself an extra kick during workouts or a lover of EDM, metal, rap, funk or other genres that are heavy on low tones, Google’s new Pixel Buds may not be suitable for you as their bass response is pretty flat

Although onboard beam-forming microphones are good enough to capture the vocals for voice commands, the same cannot be said of call quality. People at the other end of the call struggle to hear the voice in moderately noisy environments

The "Pixel Buds" app has a fairly basic functionality such as checking the battery levels of each earbud or controlling a handful of settings. There is no option to adjust the equalizer or customize the touch controls, plus it's exclusive to Android and not available for iOS devices

The soft matte finish of the earbuds and case is prone to scratches. You should be very careful when leaving them in your pocket with keys or other metal objects that can easily rub them

The "spatial vents" let in quite a bit of ambient noise to create environmental awareness, useful for runners or cyclists, but for users who want complete sound insolation during commuting probably won't

The proximity sensors work perfectly to pause the music when you remove the earbuds, but they are not accurate enough to automatically play the music when you put the buds back in your ear

Although they have Bluetooth 5.0, there is no multi-device connectivity, which means you can only connect one device at a time

The stabilizer arc provides a secure fit, but can cause discomfort to some users during long listening sessions

No support for advanced Bluetooth aptX codecs for better sound quality, these earbuds only support AAC and SBC codecs

Each bud performs different functions at different times, and therefore tends to discharge at different speeds. One bud can consume more battery than the other

They're priced at a $179 in the U.S. which makes them $20 expensive compared to the Apple Airpods that dominate the true wireless earbuds market with a huge margin

These earbuds are slightly large compared to others on the market, and users with small ears may not have the right fit and feel uncomfortable when using them for long listening sessions.

With a price tag of $249, these premium earbuds have better workmanship quality than the Sony WF-1000XM3 and can easily surpass Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 in noise cancellation. However, if you want to save some money, we highly recommend checking out Panasonic RZ S500W as well.

They lack the sidetone feature that allows you to hear your own voice in the earbuds as you speak into the microphone. Due to the strong noise cancellation, you will be inclined to speak louder than necessary.

Such a strong noise cancellation leads to static noise/hissing sound behind the music, which can be easily perceptible when the noise cancellation is strongest. You need to manually adjust the noise canceling levels to find the perfect balance.

They don't have proximity sensors that automatically pause or stop the music when you take them off your ears for a quick chat or listen to the subway announcements. In such situations, it is better to use Ambient mode functionality.

The Technics eah az70w true wireless headphones sound great, as long as you have a good fit that leads to a tight seal, it is very important otherwise they sound thinner than they should.

No support for higher-quality audio codec such as aptX, aptX HD or aptX LL (support SBC and AAC only), which results in a significant delay when watching 4k videos on your smartphone.

Some users may not get the secure fit because there are no optional fins or hooks that keep the headphones stable in their ears, especially when running or outdoor activities, and they need to adjust the fit quite often.

The case does not support wireless charging. That means it can't be charged by placing it on the back of a new high-end Android smartphones such as the Samsung S20 series or on a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad.

The earbuds have a moderate IPX4 rating. They can withstand a bit of sweat and rain, but they're not designed for strong water pressure when submerged. So be careful if you want to rinse them off.

The average battery life is only 6.5 hours, and the case contains about 13 hours of additional juice. This is better than Apple Airpods Pro, but not as outstanding as other competing models such as Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 (28 hours together) or Master and Dynamic MW07 Plus (impressive 40 hours together).
